Google Transliteration IME is an input method editor, using which you can enter text in any one of the supported languages with a roman keyboard. With the help of Latin Characters you can enter the word the way it sounds and the word will be converted to native script by Google Transliteration IME. At present you can find Google Transliteration IME for 19 different languages which includes Sanskrit, Serbian, Tamil, Telugu, Tigrinya, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Punjabi, Russian, Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, Farsi (Persian), Greek , Gujarati and Urdu.

The converted content will always remain in Unicode. Another point to note is, this is not similar to translation, it is just the sound of the word converted from one alphabet to the other.

Google Transliteration IME also provides offline support so you do not require an Internet connection. The dictionary enabled Keyboard allows you to enter rare and complex words. Single click web search for highlighted word is also available in this. Users corrections can be remembered which comes along with macro and canonical support. Lot of customization suggestions is available like page size, display font and much more.
