The fifth generation iPad is expected to be unveiled in March. According to the sources, the iPad 5G will be getting its design cues from the Apple iPad mini. Apart from this, iPad 5G is expected to be thinner and lighter than the 3rd and 4th generation iPad’s. The new fifth generation iPad is expected to be 4mm, 17mm and 2mm smaller in height, width and depth than the current models. It is believed that Apple may be adopting a half year product refresh cycle in order to keep up with the growing competition from other device manufacturers.

It is also rumored that there is an upgraded iPad mini in the works and it will come with the Retina Display technology that is used on the iPhones and newer 9.7-inch iPad models, as well as an A6X processor used in the 4th generation iPad. Besides the fifth generation iPad, Apple is supposed to be getting the second generation of the Apple iPad mini ready. Reports also mention that Apple will restructure the lighting from two LED light bars to one in order to decrease the device’s overall weight.
