Google Chrome OS Touch Notebook

According to a recent report Google is going to launch its own labeled 12.85 – inch Chrome OS touch controlled notebook. The Google notebook could begin shipping by the end of the year 2012. Google touch notebook will launch in Q1 2013. Report indicates that the initial run is said to be relatively small that is 20 million units, which would be a huge shipment by last year’s standards. Taiwanese manufacturers Compal Electronics have been made for OEM production and Wintek for touch panel production.

Although Google has yet to officially confirm its plans, its engineers and product managers acknowledged at its recent Chromebook media event that future Chrome OS devices might include touch screens not to mention tablet. The chromium website makes it clear that Chrome OS engineers are exploring tablets and a touch screen UI. A new Touch UI build was released for the Google Chrome OS that supports the ability to touch and drag for apps development. This currently is focused on making apps easy to arrange on pages, with a range of gestures included such as swiping and dragging to switch pages as well as the ability to press and hold an app to move it.
