The iH8Sn0w which released the famous Sn0wbreeze tool to jailbreak iPod Touch 1G, 2G and iPhone 2G, 3G, and 3G[S](old bootrom and non MC) has released the very useful tool called “f0recast”. As we have reported earlier, F0recast is a very useful application for all iPhone and iPod Touch users which will tell you if your iPhone or iPod Touch is Jailbreakable and if the JailBreak would be tethered or not. The application also tells you whether your iPhone is Unlockable or not.

F0recast is a tool for Windows that will check your iPod and iPhone to determine whether it is tethered, or unlockable (iPhone Only). All you have to do is just connect your iPhone/iPod Touch to your Windows machine and launch f0recast. f0recast will give you details about the Baseband, Bootloader and Model of your device. For example if you are an iPhone 3G user with the 5.8 Bootloader, it will notify you that you can downgrade your baseband if you wish to unlock.

F0recast is just a simple app for users who are confused about their device being tethered or able to unlock. So instead of rushing and upgrading to the latest firmware or trying to jailbreak using redsn0w or PwnageTool, you can take the help of F0recast to confirm if you can jailbreak and unlock iPhone with the current firmware and baseband.

Also note that f0recast is just a suggestion tool and cannot be used to jailbreak or unlock any device. Stay tuned to TechHail to hear more about other jailbreaking/unlocking tools or guides.
