PayPal Mass Payments Processing

When a Mass Payments request is executed, PayPal processes each payment in the request. PayPal takes the payment amounts from your account and attempts to put them into the recipients PayPal account. PayPal holds the mass payment amounts for 30 days. If a payment is unclaimed after 30 days, the money is returned to your account.

All users who have got a PayPal Premier account or Business account and a verified account, can use Mass Payments.

PayPal Mass Payments File Types

Users must create a payment file to send Mass Payments and you can send up to 5,000 payments in one batch. A payment file contains recipient and payment information. PayPal supports payment files with the following extensions:

• .TXT (Text, tab-delimited)
• .CSV (Comma Separated Value)
• .DAT (Text, tab-delimited)

PayPal Mass Payment File Contents

The payment file contains the required fields – Recipient (Email address or PayPal account ID), Payment Amount and Currency Type (Three-letter currency code. Eg. USD, EUR, AUD); optional fields – Customer ID and Custom Note.

Accessing PayPal Mass Payments

• Log in to your PayPal account at https://www.paypal.com
• Click the Send Money tab and the Send Money Online page opens.
• Click the Make a Mass Payment subtab.
• Now upload your Mass Payments file and send the money to the receivers.
