ESET, a security solutions provider, has removed the beta tag and rounded out its business product line by launching ESET NOD32 Antivirus Business Edition for Mac OS X. With ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 Business Edition for Mac, ESET hopes to deliver the “most advanced protection to all business networks – employing either PCs or Macs”. The solution was introduced for public testing in December last year.

It has been engineered with the company’s ThreatSense scanning engine that automatically detects and cleans malware, including threats designed for Windows operating systems, preventing Macs from becoming carriers of malware in a corporate network. In addition, ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 Business Edition for Mac OS X gives IT administrators the ability to monitor all network endpoints across multitude operating systems with ease, all from a single management console. Besides advanced scanning settings, the solution includes features like security settings control, integrated task scheduler, cross platform protection (protects against Mac, Windows and Linux malware), and full screen mode. ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 Business Edition for Mac is now available in English, with other languages following in the coming months.

In related news, the company recently announced ESET Mobile Security built for smartphones and pocket-PCs running Windows Mobile and Symbian operating systems. The Mobile Security solution includes features like anti-theft, remote wipe, SIM matching, password protection, security audit, SMS & MMS antispam and Firewall.
