New Kobo Wireless eReader Features Wi-Fi, 1GB Memory, Longer Battery, Faster Processor and New Colors

Borders has unveiled new enhanced eReader – Kobo which is utmost similar to the Amazon’s Wi-Fi only – Kindle. Updated Kobo includes many interesting features that make it ideal for purchase. With not much difference in the technical aspects compared with its earlier version, this Wi-Fi enabled Kobo comes with faster processor for snappier page turns and allows you to access more than 1.5 million eBooks available in the library at an ease.

Enabling users to make 10,000 page turns per battery charge, Kobo supports ePUB, PDF and Adobe DRM file formats. Incorporating 1GB of internal storage and an SD card slot that can handle up to 4GB cards, this gadget measures 0.4 inches thick, weighs less than 8 ounces. Other features of Kobo Wireless include Flexible Fonts, pre-loaded Borders Desktop App, support for visuals in manga, graphic novels, illustrated texts, customizable preferences to navigate in between books and chapters, and many more.

Implementing E Ink Technology, Kobo will be available for a price of $140. Rumors also indicate that Kobo’s eReader software will soon be preloaded on RIM’s recently announced PlayBook tablet, though we are not sure, but if this happens, nevertheless to say, it would be a delight to book lovers!
