Ovi, the brand for Nokia’s internet services, now comes with its own browser. Ovi services can be used from a mobile device, computer (through Nokia Ovi Suite) or via the Web (Ovi.com). The new Ovi Browser is being touted as an application that enables “quick, easy-to-use mobile Web browsing on Series 40 devices all around the world and especially in the emerging markets”.

Among other considerations, the company is understood to have taken into account feedback from users in emerging markets like India, Indonesia and Vietnam during the development of Ovi Browser. The idea behind the browser was to enable users without smartphones to enjoy an improved Web-browsing experience.

The new Ovi Browser is available to download on Nokia Series 40 phones including: 2700 Classic, 2730 Classic, 3120 Classic, 3600 Slide, 5130 XpressMusic, 5220 Xpressmusic, 5310 XpressMusic, 5330 Mobile TV Edition, 5330 Xpressmusic, 5610, 6300i, 6303, 6500 Slide, 6500 Classic, 6600 Slide, 6700 Classic, 7210 Supernova, 7900 Prism and X3.

The browser is expected to be released commercially early next year. If you are Nokia S40 user then you can download Ovi Browser directly from http://browser.ovi.com.
