Download Blackra1n to Jailbreak iPhone and iPod Touch with iPhone OS 3.1.2
Finally GeoHot has released a simple Windows tool called “blackra1n” to jailbreak iPhone and iPod with 3.1.2 firmware. Apple has recently released the 3.1.2 iPhone OS for iPhone and iPod Touch. You can use the Blackra1n jailbreaking tool to jailbreak iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPod Touch 3G and iPod Touch 2G with 3.1.2 firmware.
blackra1n is a 30 second ALL device iPhone firmware 3.1.2 jailbreak tool for Windows. Currently blackra1n is available for windows only and Mac users have to wait for some more time. With blackra1n you can even jailbreak iPod Touch 3, but the ipt3 is tethered. In order to boot it all you have to do is just rerun blackra1n. You can try blackra1n to jailbreak your iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 2G and iPod Touch 3G only if you are using official iPhone with authorized carrier as it cannot hacktivate.
Geohot also warns iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS unlockers not to upgrade to iPhone OS 3.1.2 using iTunes in order to preserve the unlock as the baseband cannot be downgraded. Do remember that blackra1n is just a jailbreaking tool and cannot be used to unlock your iPhone or iPod Touch.

When is an unlock/jailbreak release of Blackra1n RC4 expected to be made for the iPhone 3.1.3 with BB 5.12.01?
There have been a number of reports with respect of tools coming available, however with all honesty, George (GEOHOT) has so far been one of the only developers to actually release a version which worked on the older phones.
Though there are numerous persons claiming to be developing jailbreaks and unlocks for various baseband’s, very few have actually produced a product.
Can we please stop with the fake unlocks and jailbreaks and just support those whom are really working to make life easier against the corporate monopolies.
