VLC Media Player is one of the widely used media player which was available initially for Windows, Mac and Linux users. Lately the team also has released VLC Media Player for iPhone and iPad. With VLC Media Player for iPhone, users can play most of the video files on their device without a need for installing multiple video players. But recently Apple has pulled out VLC Media Player from the App Store stating that it violates it’s Terms and Conditions.

Don’t worry if you haven’t already downloaded VLC Media Player from the iTunes Store as it is now available via Cydia. But remember that you have to jailbreak your iPhone/iPad to install VLC Media Player from Cydia.

How to download and install VLC Media Player for iPhone from Cydia

• Open Cydia, tap the Manage tab and then Tap on Sources
• Tap the Edit button and click on Add
• Now type the repo url as – http://rpetri.ch/repo and tap on Add sources
• After Cydia completes adding the new repo, go to search and look for “VLC Media Player”
• Tap on VLC Media Player and then click on Install
