The Chronic Dev team has recently released the Greenpois0n tool to jailbreak iOS 4.1. Greenpois0n can jailbreak iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G on iOS 4.1 and iPad on iOS 3.2.2. Greenpois0n Jailbreak tool should have been released on 10/10/10, but because of the release of Limera1n, the Dev team has changed the release date of greenpois0n. Greenpois0n Jailbreak Tool that was planned to be released earlier was expected to use the SHAtter BootROM exploit, but the current release of greenpois0n tool uses the GeoHot’s exploit that was used in Limera1n. The Chronic Dev Team preserved the SHAtter exploit to use it in the next version of greenpois0n that can be used to jailbreak iOS 4.2.

Jailbreak iPod Touch 4G/iPod Touch 3G on iOS 4.1 With Greenpois0n For Mac

1. Download Greenpois0n for Mac.
2. Power off your iPod Touch 4G or iPod Touch 3G and connect it to your computer and launch greenpois0n.
3. Click “Jailbreak” button on greenpois0n.
4. Follow the steps shown on the greenpois0n window to put your iPod Touch in DFU mode.
   1. Press and hold the sleep button for 3 seconds.
   2. Continue holding sleep; press and hold home for 10 seconds.
   3. Release sleep button; continue holding home for 15 seconds.
5. Once Greenpois0n detects your iPod Touch in DFU mode it will initiate the “Jailbreak” process.
6. Once Greenpois0n completes your iPod Touch jailbreak it displays the message “Complete!”.
7. Just restart your iPod Touch and you will find the Loader icon on the springboard.
8. Hit the Loader icon and install Cydia.

If you have successfully completed the above steps you will have a Jailbroken iPod Touch 4G or iPod Touch 3G in your hands.
