Finnish handset maker Nokia launched the much-anticipated N8 for the Indian market at an event held in Mumbai. Priced at Rs 26,259, the Symbian 3 handset will be available at Nokia Priority stores, starting October 13. The launch was packed with a little Bollywood-style drama with brand ambassador & actress Priyanka Chopra doing a little disappearing act, 48 hours ahead of the event, and re-appearing at the event to unveil the device – engrossed as she apparently was with the N8 experience.

The smartphone touts multitasking capabilities, enabling users to run multiple apps and even switching between them. The 12 Megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics is the Smartphone’s USP, enabling users to edit photos and videos on-screen and also select from multiple file-sharing options. The phone also features 3.5-inch AMOLED display and 720p HD video output. The latest version of Ovi Store comes pre-loaded on this device, enabling users to access apps and games.

The N8 also features an HDMI connection to show off your images, videos and music on compatible televisions and projectors. It also features Dolby Digital Plus technology – compatible with home theater systems. Packed in an anodized aluminium casing, the phone is available in Silver white, Dark Grey, Orange, Blue and Green color variants.
