Windows Speech Recognition (WSR) Profile Tool for Windows 7 & Vista

The latest version of Windows Speech Recognition(WSR) Profile Tool tailored to work for Windows 7 is released by Microsoft. The Windows Speech Recognition Profile Tool basically allows Windows users to backup and restore their speech profiles. This will be very useful when you want to transfer a speech profile between computers, or when archiving complex speech profiles.


The Windows Speech Recognition tool or simply called the WSR Profile tool is currently in the Community Technology Preview(CTP) stage. It allows you to back up and restore your speech profile quickly and easily.

The Windows Speech Recognition Profile tool is available for both Windows 7 and Vista users and works on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems. So if you are planning for an upgrade to Windows 7 and are looking for a way to backup your speech profile then try out WSR Profile tool.

    The Windows 7 speech recognition has some serious limitations, specially if you want to click anywhere on the screen.

    I use Win 7 speech recognition continuously, but also settled upon an extension for Win 7 called Voice Finger ( ), that somehow fill the gaps in Win 7 recognition.

    I guess this software is not targeted to people who use speech recognition like an alternative from time to time, but if you want (or needs) to reduce computer contact to zero, this software is great.
