Nokia C7-00 Features Symbian^3 OS, 8MP Camera and Priced at €335

Nokia has broken cover of its mid-tier Symbian^3 device C7-00. The 130gm smartphone has a polished stainless steel and glass body with a 3.5″ high-resolution (360 x 640 pixel) AMOLED capacitive touch screen, with scratch resistant glass, supporting pinch to zoom.

If you want a general device description, Nokia C7-00 has a single tap ‘Direct UI’ paradigm, and comes loaded with a 8 megapixel autofocus camera; video recording at 720p resolution (1280×720) and 25 frames per second; integrated A-GPS with location support for GPS, A-GPS, WLAN and Cell-ID; 3.5 mm Nokia AV connector for audio in/out and TV-out; FM transmitter and FM Radio (with RDS); and microUSB port for PC connectivity, charging and USB on-the-go functionality. We said it is loaded with features, didn’t we? Well, there is more. The smarphone can support 3.5G, Wi-fi and GPS. It also equipped with upto 350 MB of internal memory, 8GB mass memory and microSD card slot (supports sizes up to 32GB) besides a 256 MB RAM. Now, for a closer look.

Nokia C7-00 Multimedia Features

The 2xZoom camera touts features like auto exposure, dual-LED flash, exposure compensation, face detection, full focus, full screen viewfinder, geotagging, red-eye reduction, self timer, and still image editor. Video features provide options for video calling, editting, playing, recording, sharing, streaming besides video stabilising. It supports a range of file formats including BMP, EXIF, GIF87a, GIF89a, JPEG, JPEG 2000, MBM, OTA, PNG, TIFF, WBMP and WMF. The model has an audio equaliser and recorder, bass boost and bluetooth stereo.

Nokia C7-00 Messaging Features

The phone supports IM, MMS+SMIL and SMS and comes with OMA Multimedia Messaging Service v1.3. Email solutions include Mail for Exchange
Nokia Messaging 3.0, OMA E-mail Notification v1.0 and Ovi Mail. The phone enables access to Excel, PDF, Powerpoint, Word and Zip formats.

Nokia C7-00 Power Management

The phone comes with a 2.0mm charger connector and USB charging. For this model, Nokia claims upto 9.6 hours of GSM talktime, WCDMA talktime up to 5.3 hours, GSM standby time up to 23 days and WCDMA standby time up to 27 days. The phone touts video playback time up to 6.4 hours and video call time up to 2.6 hours.

Nokia C7-00 Extra Features

Besides Ovi features like Ovi Maps, Ovi Music and Ovi Store, the phone includes 3 microphones, ambient light sensor, a compass (magnetometer sensor), on demand Web TV, proximity sensor and so on. The enables you to get live updates from Facebook and Twitter directly on the home screen.

Additionally, for the software developers, the device includes Qt 4.6.3, Java MIDP 2.1, Bluetooth 3.0 and Flash Lite 4.0. To be priced at around €335, the C7-00 is expected to ship in Q4 2010. It will be available in three colours: Charcoal Black, Frosty Metal and Mahogany Brown.
