Maemo is an Open source, Linux-based operating system that is designed to run on high-end Nokia mobile computers. The latest Nokia N900 runs the Maemo 5 OS. Maemo is an open platform that runs on open devices and has Linux at its core, but Maemo also has plenty of other software components maintained by communities of open-source developers.
