Looking for a solution to keep your device safe from the clutches of unwanted users? We have two: App Slammer and Application Safer. Both these privacy tools can come in handy, allowing you to shut others out of your phone so that you have exclusive access to your device and its content. Here’s a closer look at the two apps:

App Slammer: This application locks Android apps, preventing unwanted users from using them and accessing data that you may want to keep to yourself. All you need to do is install the app and enter password details. You can now lock your apps by:

  • Searching the desired apps by pressing menu button
  • Tapping search apps.

App Slammer also allows apps to be sorted out by name, date or size. Other features include:

  • Notification bar icon
  • Option to enable/disable default system apps from the general settings.

So, the next time someone tries to access one of your protected apps, s/he will be thrown the message saying ‘(app name) is blocked by App Slammer’. Users do not need to root their devices to use this app.

Application Safer: The name of the app is indication enough on what this tool seeks to do – make applications in your Android device safer. Once you have installed it, you will be asked to enter the passcode, set as ‘hello’ by default. Safety features can be turned on tapping on the ‘Application Safer ON/OFF’. This tool allows locking of third party and default apps. Users can sweak the settings to manage the unlock mode by either setting it to passcode or pattern lock. Unlock status can be customized to:

  • Set as lock every time
  • Keep unlock status until screen off
  • Unlock once for all apps until screen off
  • Keep unlock status until reboot
  • Unlock once for all apps until reboot.

Notification icon can also be enabled/disabled through the same settings.
