HTC Salsa and ChaCha Smartphones With Dedicated Facebook Button and Android OS

Recently, there were speculations around about the HTC’s upcoming smartphones with dedicated Facebook key, and now the rumors turned true for everyone’s delight. HTC has confirmed two new smartphones – HTC Salsa and HTC ChaCha that will feature a dedicated Facebook key in Mobile World Congress. Along with many enticing features, these two phones tend to make social networking much simpler thru integrating the feature within the handset.

Though HTC does not call these phones as Facebook phones, but these seem to be designed for providing unlined social networking experience. Sharing photos, videos, links and staying in touch with friends is made simple by implementing the dedicated key. Facebook chat and messages features implemented in these handsets makes them appear within the text and email in-boxes along with the regular conversations, providing users more flexibility to access them.

Running on Android Gingerbread 2.3.3, these phones are sleek and trendy in looks. HTC Salsa sports a a 3.4-inch, 480 x 320 touchscreen, which Chacha comes with a 2.6-inch, 480 x 320 resolution landscape touch screen and will feature portrait QWERTY keyboard. HTC Salsa and HTC Chacha has a LED flash, a VGA front-facing camera and a 5 mega pixel camera for better and detailed video chats. Both these devices have a dedicated delicately illustrated Facebook key in the front panel almost at the center. Possessing atmost similar features and bringing in impressive social networking capabilities, Salsa and Chacha includes a 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor as well.

HTC Chacha and Salsa are expected to hit the markets by Q2 2011. These phone may be first be available to customers across major European and Asian markets, followed by United States. Rumors also indicate that HTC might release these handsets exclusively with AT&T, so let’s wait and see!
