There is so much competion in the smartphone market, no player can afford to stop for a breath. We had been listening from everyone expect RIM for a while and now the company is back and with its latest range of Blackberry phones too. These new models are touch, some even multi-touch, capable and include a new:

  • BlackBerry Bold
  • BlackBerry Curve
  • BlackBerry Torch 2

We have saved the best for the last: BlackBerry Storm 3. Leaked reports floating on the internet tout this as a powerful Android/iPhone competitor. Needless to say, the specifications of this phone are impressive, including a high-resolution 800×480-pixel display, the power of a 1.2Ghz core processor (that’s a jump from 600Mhz) in its guts and even an optical trackpad.

Storm 3 is being codenamed Monaco and Monza. So, we wonder whether these models would be called as Storm 3 or will the company launch a brand new range altogether. Meanwhile, here’s a closer look at the specifications of the Blackberry Storm 3:

  • 1.2GHz ARM9 Processor
  • 3.7-inch 800 x 480 capacitive multitouch display
  • BlackBerry OS 6.1
  • OpenGL ES 2.0
  • 3G Mobile hotspot, Optical trackpad
  • 5-megapixel camera with 720p video recording
  • 8GB eMMC (storage for apps and data), 512MB of RAM, microSD slot
