BlackBerry Storm 2 Coming Soon With SurePress Touch Screen, Wi-Fi and BlackBerry OS 5

The Blackberry Storm2 9550 also known as Odin, is on the way to hit the market. Vodafone and RIM introduced the BlackBerry Storm 2 smartphone for customers in 7 European countries(UK, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, France and Italy) and also South Africa. It is a massive departure from RIM’s customary buttoned-up candy shaped smartphones, this wonderful model makes many unhappy with its super clicking touchscreen named SurePress. The new SurePress is grounded on a series of four detectors below the screen is opposite to the single central swivel point which helps you to hit many keys on the virtual keyboard to improve your typing speed. This super model includes Wi-Fi which has been missing for a long time. There are many stylistic changes thrown in Blackberry Storm2, like the new chrome trim, rubberized buttons and many more. BlackBerry Storm 2 will definitely give a stiff competition to other brand touch screen mobiles like Nokia N97, Nokia 5800, Apple iPhone and many more.


The new Blackberry Storm 2 9550 comes with a 3.25″ 480×360 pixel transmissive TFT LCD capacitive touchscreen with SurePress, Integrated GPS with A-GPS, 256 MB Flash memory, 2 GB eMMC and it weighs about 160 g. The display controls dynamic hardware brightness and supports over 65,000 colors. Another special feature in this model is the 3.2 MP camera which has 2X digital zoom, image stabilization, flash and auto focus. On screen keyboard includes QWERTY, landscape QWERTY, portrait SureType, multi-tap and portrait QWERTY. Other features include HSPA 2100 MHz, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.1, integrated speaker and microphone, hands-free headset capability and integrated hands-free speakerphone.

BlackBerry Storm 2 is powered by BlackBerry OS 5 and you have BlackBerry Desktop Manager for both PC and Mac, and there is BlackBerry Media Sync for easily syncing iTunes and Windows Media Player with the smartphone. The improved user interface with overall smoothness, kinetic scrolling and transitions, Surepress for more accurate and great connectivity will definitely attract more users to go for Blackberry Storm 2.
