GeoHot Releases Betas For His Latest Limera1n Tool, Fourth Beta Out With a Host of Bug Fixes

Written By Sam on 11 October 2010

The release of Limera1n was unexpected and replete with drama, what with the Chronic Dev Team, who had scheduled the release of its Greenpois0n jailbreak publicly displaying anger and dismay over GeoHot’s move to steal the thunder. But GeoHot has his supporters who believe he did the right thing because Apple has found a patch for the exploit used in Limera1n. Besides, the move forced Chronic Dev Team to save the SHAtter exploit, earlier expected to be used in Greenpois0n, for future devices.

That said, the haste with which the jailbreak was released left few things to be fixed. No wonder, GeoHot is feverishly releasing betas for his new tool. We have the fourth beta of Limera1n already, with quite a few bug fixes. Here’s a list of bug fixes along with a changelog:

  • iPod Touch 2G support coming soon
  • for iPhone 3G, use redsn0w
  • limera1n app is a white box, i know. use it anyway
