The Micro-Blogging Service, Twitter has become very popular in the last few months. Apart from Bloggers, Developers, Designers, CEO’s, Actors many small and big companies are using Twitter to popularize their brand name on the Internet. Keeping in view of its real-time nature it would be good if we can access Twitter from different sources like browsers, mobiles etc. If you are a Firefox user then you can try the following Twitter add-ons for Firefox to effectively tweet while you are surfing the Internet from Firefox.

Useful Twitter add-ons for Firefox

TwitterFox – This is the first add-on that I had installed for Firefox. This adds an icon on the lower right of your browser taskbar. TwitterFox has three tabs – most recent tweets, replies and messages. Though TwitterFox doesn’t provide you with great features it’s so simple that you will love to use it very quickly.

Power Twitter – Power Twitter adds many features to the Twitter Web interface which includes search and recent searches, Facebook status updates, inline YouTube, Flickr, TwitPic, Google Maps,, and more, photo uploading, link shrinking and #hashtags.

TwitterBar – TwitterBar helps you to post you tweets easily from your Firefox address bar. Here the Tweets are published by clicking on the title icon at the right side of the address bar.

Twitzer – Twitzer allows you post text longer than 140 characters on It also provides a feature where you can resolve TinyURL links to actual links so that you can only click on safe links.

TwitBin – This is similar to TwitterFox except it does it in a panel on the right side of your browser which is similar to the bookmarks panel. Users can send messages, receive messages, share links and do more from Twitbin.

InstantTweets – You can instantly send pages, pictures and tweets to Twitter from any where on the web. You can right click on any site or image to instantly tweet about it. You can also Know who is following you on Twitter, the bird icon will display BLUE if someone is following you and RED if they are not.

TwitKit – TwitKit has a 6-section interface with which you can view the Twitter public timeline, your user timeline, see your friends and their latest tweets, a list of your followers and their latest tweets, @replies made to you and stats about your account. It has got many color schemes to suit your taste.

Though you may not use all these at the same time, it would be better to try them and see which suits you better. If you are using any other Twitter Add-ons for Firefox then do let us know about them.

I tried twitterfox once. Is good, but once I started using tweetdeck, never got back to it. But, browser integrations are always good.
