New Acer TimelineX and Aspire Series Laptops Feature Nvidia, ATI Graphics; To Ship Before Yearend

Acer has launched a new TimelineX series laptops that includes an 11.6-inch 1830T, a 13.3-inch 3820T, 14-inch 4820T and a 15-inch 5820T. Specifications that are common to these models include 720p HD video playback capability, 1.3MP HD webcam, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, VGA ports, digital card reader, four USB 2.0 ports, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, HDMI 1080p output, full-size keyboard, a battery life of up to eight hours, and Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. Below is a closer look at the TimelineX models.

Acer TimelineX 1830T

This model with Intel Core i7-680 processor would be available at a price starting at $900. The versions loaded with the Intel Core i3 and Core i5 Ultra Low Voltage processors would be available at a price starting at $600. Other specs include:

  • 11.6-inch display supports a resolution 1366×768 pixel
  • Ultra-low voltage Core i3, i5 and i7 processors
  • The clock speed may be to 2.53GHz with Intel’s Turbo Boost technology
  • 720p HD video support

Acer TimelineX 4820T (around $799.99)

  • 14-inch display

  • 4GB RAM (expandable up to 8GB) and 500GB HDD for storage
  • Support for DirectX 11 graphics
  • Optional ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics

Acer TimelineX 5820T (around the $599)

  • 15.6-inch display
  • Intel Core i3 or i5 processor

Aspire models

Alongside this, Acer has also launched a range of Aspire models, expected to hit the market sometime this year. Acer Aspire models will include an 18.4-inch AS5745DG, 15.6-inch AS5742G & AS5745, a 17.3-inch AS7745 and a 18.4-inch AS8943G. Here’s a cursory glance at the specifications:
